Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has caught in a spiral of raging controversies in a fight over allegations that an ₹18 crore loan to her was written off by New India Cooperative Bank. Controversy took a contentious turn when the Kerala Congress purportedly linked the alleged loan waiver to Zinta’s alleged affiliations with the BJP launching a tirade on social media.
Zinta took X (formerly Twitter) and posted that she is being accused of “fake news” and “vile gossip.” She said her accounts are run solely by her and that she repaid the loan long ago like a decade back.
No I operate my social media accounts my self and shame on you for promoting FAKE NEWS ! No one wrote off anything or any loan for me. I’m shocked that a political party or their representative is promoting fake news & indulging in vile gossip & click baits using my name &… https://t.co/cdnEvqnkYx

The Kerala Congress challenged her to prove repayment claiming that the New India Cooperative Bank faced financial mismanagement, citing various reports.
The row began with reports that indicated loans to Zinta and a few other prominent personalities were written off without following due recovery processes. Congress leaders allege this is part of a corruption pattern. However, there is no concrete evidence against her and she has categorically denied this slamming.
Later the Kerala congress replied with solid proofs and statements in an X post.
Good to know you're managing your own account, unlike other celebs who have handed theirs over to the notorious IT cell.
