With 13 openings for service technicians, customer engagement managers and delivery specialists, Tesla is fast tracking its entry into India. Bloomberg Reports says that the job postings in Mumbai and Delhi signal Tesla’s imminent entry into the country after a significant meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Elon Musk on US soil.
Till now, Tesla deviated from the Indian market over massive duties on car imports. Now there is a clear and obvious chance as India has reduced basic customs duties on high end cars priced above $40,000 from 110% to 70%. This opening might promote the affordable competitiveness of Tesla’s electric vehicles in the Indian market, which is still in its early stages compared to countries like China.

Thus, as Tesla seeks to finish with slowing-sell positions, the possible entry into India coincides with Musk’s efforts to strengthen Tesla’s footprint worldwide. With EV markets gradually evolving in India, Tesla could seize the chance to further tighten its grip on the landscape of the country.
