Gene Hackman, 95 and his wife Betsy Arakawa, 63 have been found dead along with one of  their healthy dogs. There is an ongoing investigation into these sad deaths. According to the authorities, the deaths are under an active review and there is no suspicion of foul play.

Theories on How Did They Die?

The daughter of the legendary actor, Elizabeth Jean Hackman believes carbon monoxide poisoning is the apparent cause of the deaths. She told TMZ the family was unsure but suspicious about some toxic noxious fumes. Authorities found them dead in separate rooms, along with one dead dog toward the suspicion that some sort of gas could be involved.

Carbon monoxide poisoning can be fatal once inhaled in high concentrations from a malfunctioning household appliance like AC or from deliberate tampering. However, authorities have not confirmed the presence of a gas leak.

Police Report: No Gas Leak Found

According to Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza, investigators have not identified the cause of death. An assisting gas company found no indications of a gas leak and the investigation remains pending. An official determination of the cause of death still therefore awaits forensic procedures.
