IKEA Expands Online Delivery Service to Delhi-NCR: A New Era for Furniture Shopping in India

IKEA launches online delivery in Delhi-NCR, Agra & more, offering 7,000+ products. Enjoy fast shipping with IKEA's 100% electric delivery vehicles.

From March 1, 2025, IKEA is rolling out its long-awaited online delivery in Delhi-NCR and nine of its surrounding cities, namely Agra, Prayagraj, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ludhiana and Varanasi. This rollout is a big moment for the Swedish furniture giant as it makes an entry into the north Indian market.

To launch the service, IKEA will roll out 50 electric vehicles for delivery in the Delhi-NCR area. The initiative is part of IKEA’s overall commitment to sustainability since the company will shift to 100% electric vehicles for all deliveries in the future. IKEA’s e-commerce platform will enable customers to browse from more than 7,000 products, from furniture to home and kitchenware, through its website, app and phone support.

IKEA is taking the hybrid omni-channel route beginning with online operations before opening physical outlets in the market. IKEA intends to open big-size stores in Gurugram by 2026 and Noida by 2028. Besides this, IKEA will open smaller stores in Chennai and Pune as part of its overall expansion plans.

Earlier this week, IKEA opened its first Central Distribution Centre in Gurugram, a 180,000 sq ft complex built in collaboration with logistics firm Rhenus. This will boost IKEA’s fulfillment and logistics abilities, allowing it to deliver quicker and more efficiently.

Through this internet-based delivery solution, IKEA is setting up for long-term expansion in India, consolidating its position in the North and laying the foundations for future stores.
