How to Check Your H-1B Selection Status?
Individuals planning to petition and who submitted an electronic registration are able to check their status by logging into their USCIS online account. Next Steps for Selected Applicants:
If an applicant is chosen, they may file their H-1B cap subject petitions starting on April 1st 2025. This applies to both regular cap applicants and advanced degree exemption applicants (master’s cap). Only those with valid registrations may file petitions.
To ensure smooth processing, applicants must:
- File the petition at the proper location or online at – my.uscis.gov.
- Submit your petition during the correct filing time (at least 90 days).
- Submit a copy of the selection notice with the petition.
- Provide evidence of your beneficiary’s current passport or travel document used during registration.
Who Can Apply & What Jobs Qualify?
US employers can sponsor foreign, specialty occupation professionals for the H-1B visa. To qualify, applicants must hold a bachelor’s or higher degree (or equivalent) in a position requiring specialized and advanced knowledge. Common H-1B work occupations include such as Engineering, Information Technology (IT), Mathematics, Medicine, Social Sciences, Business, Law and the Arts.
Final Steps Before Approval:
