The title dispute is for actor Dhanush’s upcoming film “Kubera” with co-stars Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna. Producer Karimakonda Narender has lodged a complaint of title infringement asserting that he has registered “Kubera” with the Telugu Film Producers Council in November 2022 before actual production commenced.
Narender is requesting change in the title or remuneration from director Sekhar Kammula and the film team. The producer has approached the Telugu Film Chamber alleging that the film team used the title without authorization.
Producer Karimakonda Narender revealed that he registered the title Kubera with the Telugu Film Producers Council in November 2023 and had already completed 90% of his film’s shooting.

Though Narender had expressed his concern, supposedly the director Sekhar Kammula or the Kubera production team had not responded to him. The shooting has reportedly been finished and the post-production has already begun for Narender.
In ‘Kubera,’ Dhanush plays the role of a homeless man who evolves into a powerful mafia character. Nagarjuna will be seen as a police officer. The film is produced by Sunil Narang and Pushkar Ram Mohan Rao and music is by Devi Sri Prasad. The controversy adds an unexpected dash of drama to the pre-release fever for the film!
