The Henley Passport Index has historical data spanning almost a couple of decades. It is the only one of its kind based on exclusive information from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA), one of the most accurate travel details databases.
The index includes 199 different passports and 227 different travel destinations across the globe. It is updated on a monthly basis and is considered one of the most reliable reference tools out there.

Back in 2006 until 2009, Singapore ranked 8th on the Henley Passport Index. In 2010, things did not go right as it slipped to 10th position. From 2011 until 2014, it has been ranking one spot higher each year. Its position stayed the same from 2014 to 2016.
In 2017, Singapore passport secured the 4th position. The next year, it came 2nd and the year after, it came first on the list. From 2020 until 2024, Singapore has been securing either the first or the second position. It stands at 1st this year, same as 2024.
