DRDO Internship Opportunities: Gain Hands-On Experience in Defence R&D

DRDO offers internships for engineering and science students in the defense R&D domain of practical work experience in the unclassified area.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) provides an excellent opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate students in engineering and general sciences to gain practical experience in the defence sector. With this unique internship scheme, students are given exposure to current, cutting-edge research and developmental activities that are vital in India’s defence technologies.

Students willing to do the internship can apply through their respective institutes or colleges by contacting the particular DRDO laboratories or establishments. The internship can vary from 4 weeks up to 6 months, depending on academic courses and the discretion of the Lab Director. The candidates will essentially work on ongoing research projects in defence technology and will contribute towards meaningful advances in the sector.

Interns shall be given access to unclassified areas in the DRDO laboratories and establishments and during this period, security protocols shall be maintained. Simultaneously, it is important to mention that this internship is not employment within DRDO after the end of the internship. Also, DRDO shall not be liable for any injuries or accidents which occur during the training.

This sheds light on invaluable skills that one needs and knowledge regarding the vast defence research scope, thus making this an appropriate opportunity to make a mark in this field.
