JioStar had a phenomenal opening weekend for IPL 2025, achieving an astonishing 4,956 crore minutes of cumulative watch time on JioHotstar (digital) and Star Sports Network (linear TV). This achievement is a testament to the massive scale of IPL and the growth of both digital and TV audiences.
On JioHotstar, there was a 40% increase in digital viewership for the first three matches compared to last season’s performances, as its connected TV viewership saw a 54% increase. Viewership on the platform recorded 137 crore views, 3.4 crore peak concurrency, and 2,186 crore minutes of watched time.

Linear television also saw significant growth. According to BARC data, 253 total viewers saw 2,770 total minutes of watch time which was 22% greater than last year. The average TVR for the first 3 matches also increased by 39% compared to IPL 2024.
