Who is Srikanth Bolla?
Srikanth Bolla is an Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist who has been successful himself, having regained his business from the clutches of visual impairment. Srikanth was born in 1991 in Andhra Pradesh to a very poor family of farmers. His family worked extremely hard to make sure that he received a decent education.
With a tall order of 98% in his Class XII exams, he fought a legal case to be able to continue with further studies. He couldn’t get admission to Indian engineering colleges but later joined MIT Sloan School of Management being the first visually impaired student ever to do so.
In 2012, Bolla co-founded Bollant Industries, a company set up to manufacture green packaging materials employing persons with disabilities. Funded by Ratan Tata, it now generates over $150 million in annual revenue. His inspiring story has even become the subject of a Bollywood film, Srikanth starring Rajkummar Rao.
