India Issues Urgent warning on Google Chrome’s Vulnerability & Security – Know the Details 

The Indian government has issued a high-severity warning for all Google Chrome users that they must update the browser immediately to fix several security vulnerabilities through which attackers could exploit it. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has pointed out that these vulnerabilities pose critical threats by opening the door for potential remote execution of arbitrary code, manipulation of data, disclosure of sensitive information and denial of service (DoS) attacks. Users are strongly advised to update Chrome immediately to protect their systems from potential cyber threats.

The vulnerabilities impact users of Google Chrome for Desktop including both individual users and organizations. Affected versions include:

• Windows & Mac: Google Chrome versions prior to 134.0.6998.88/.89
• Linux: Google Chrome versions prior to 134.0.6998.88

How to Check Your Chrome Version?

To check your Chrome version, open Google Chrome.Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner then Select Help and select About Google Chrome. A new tab will open that shows the version of Chrome you’re using.

How to Update Google Chrome?

• Navigate to Help > About Google Chrome as mentioned above.
• If an update is available, Chrome will automatically start downloading it.
• Relaunch the browser to apply updates.
