JioHotstar has once again created history for live sports streaming in India by scoring 540.3 crore views during the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament which saw an electrifying final between India and New Zealand, once again shattered digital records with the final match itself bringing in a whopping set of 124.2 crore views and a peak concurrency of 6.12 crore users.
The massive success came on the back of India’s Gladiatorial winning and the unique features of the platform. More than 38% of the views came from Hindi speaking areas, with Maharashtra topping the list. JioHotstar gained more than 80% penetration through the strategy of large-screen streaming via Wi-Fi enabled connected TVs.

JioHotstar introduced unique and immersive experiences with 16 varied feeds across nine regional languages and four multi camera feeds. Additional features such as Indian Sign Language and Audio Descriptive Commentary opened up views into the experience, catering to the accessibility of all. The last tournament India vs Australia led to an all time high spike in single day subscriptions, emphasizing the fact that people are now gravitating toward digital sports streaming more.
