India’s batting sensation Shubman Gill has been awarded the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2025 another milestone in his shining career. The top order sensation eclipsed strong competition from Australia’s Steve Smith and New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips to bag the prestigious honor.
Gill’s incredible performance in One Day Internationals in February earned him 406 runs from just five games, with an average of 101.50 and a strike rate of 94.19. He was consistent right through, beginning with a good 87 in Nagpur, then a steady 60 in Cuttack. But the standout performance came with a rip roaring 112 off 102 balls in Ahmedabad. The knock, containing 14 boundaries and three sixes, not only won India the match but also earned him both Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards.
